Come early, stay late—this one’s going to be something special!
M:Soundtrack + African Beats & Pieces prsts: Lollise (NYC / Botswana) + Adelle Nqeto (Bln/ South Africa) + DJ Mixanthrope
Thrilled to welcome Lollise (NYC/Botswana) to the Schokoladen stage!
Her vibrant energy, infectious beats, and radiant presence promise an unforgettable night—get ready to smile, move, and dance!
Opening the evening is the brilliant Adelle Nqeto, a Berlin-based South African artist whose soulful voice and unique take on alternative African folk left our Café Chocolat audience spellbound. We’re so excited to have her back—she’s truly one of a kind, and we can’t wait for you to experience her magic.
The night is co-curated by M:Soundtrack and African Beats & Pieces, a Berlin event series dedicated since 2017 to music made in Africa and throughout its diaspora.
To top it all off, DJ Mixanthrope will be behind the decks with an eclectic mix of rhythms and grooves to keep the energy flowing all night long.
Come early, stay late—this one’s going to be something special!
Lollise is a musician, visual artist and fashion designer from Botswana, currently living in NYC.
Using sound, color and movement, Lollise tells stories of real and imagined worlds,
multidimensional and nuanced, historical and futuristic. She performs with a potent energy and
commitment to the music, in body and in spirit. Lollise creates hybrid songs for this moment,
taking influence from the music she grew up with – Setswana and Kalanga folk songs, '80s and
'90s South African electronic bubblegum and kwaito, Congolese soukous and Zimbabwean
sungura – and the music she has been exposed to in New York, including Afrobeat, new wave,
and art-pop.
Adelle Nqeto's music stems from the gaze of an introverted observer with a passion for melody and stories. Rooted in South African folk and exploring Jazz, Indie and Pop sensibilities, the Berlin-based musician’s work expresses the beauty and complexity in our human reality. Quite fittingly, her music style has been labelled as “Alternative African Folk”.
African Beats & Pieces is a regular event series in Berlin dedicated since 2017 to the music made in Africa and throughout its diaspora. DJ mixes celebrating music from Africa & its diaspora beyond the mainstream since 2017. Curated by Boris Paillard/ DJ Mixanthrope -- @african_beats_and_pieces

»Minor Citizen is a three-piece rock band from Amsterdam with a big mouth. With a raw mix of hard rock and grungepop, the band is comparable to great acts like Triggerfinger, Queens of the Stone Age, and IDLES.
With an EP produced by Mario Goossens from Triggerfinger, they traveled around the
Netherlands during Popronde. They attracted a lot of attention as one of the most booked acts, with an energetic live show that managed to whip up every single audience.
New music is set to be released in the fall of 2025. Sweat, headbanging, and a voice reminiscent of Chris Cornell. We'll see you in the moshpit.«

HUMANS AS ORNAMENTS have always felt at home in a space of musical experimentation. Their songs contain a variety of influences - always delivered with a raw emotional intensity. Drawing from various genres between Post-Punk, Art-Rock, R&B and HipHop, the childhood friends Dave and Dennis continuously try to find connections within opposites. As a result, their sound is distinctly individual and uncompromising.

Berlin-based singer and electronic artist ZYLVA channels themes of hope and recovery on her EP "Antiroom." After the feat of strength that was the release of her debut album "Poems from the Dark" in 2023, Zylva longed for musical and personal companionship, something she found again in Ludwig Wandinger, a fellow Berlin resident who co-produced the EP. In keeping with the heterogeneous approach of her debut, with genres ranging from Avant Pop to Indie and Ambient over the course of 5 tracks, "Antiroom" reflects the breadth of Zylva’s musical spectrum. The title’s double meaning ("Antiroom/Anteroom") refers to spaces where one’s presence (e.g., as a female producer) is not intended, as well as the EP being a precursor to future musings and a harbinger of recovery.
Gob is a legendary Canadian punk band from Vancouver, British Columbia, known for their
infectious, hook-laden sound and relentless DIY ethic. As they approach their 30th anniversary, Gob’s
influence on the punk scene remains undeniable. The band first gained prominence in 1995 with their hit
“Soda” from the album Too Late… No Friends, which became a youth anthem in Canada, thanks in part to its
iconic music video which received heavy rotation on Canada’s Muchmusic.
Over the years, Gob has released six full-length albums, sold over 300,000 physical copies, and earned
Juno nominations and Gold record certifications. Their singles “I Hear You Calling” and “Give Up the Grudge”
further solidified their place in punk rock history. Known for their energetic live shows, Gob has performed
worldwide, including major festivals like Warped Tour, Edgefest, and Amnesia Rockfest. They are one of the
rare punk bands to have had the honor of gracing the stage at Budokan in Japan.

A staple of the Toronto scene for over a decade, The Anti-Queens are an ultra-hard-working, punked-up rock 'n' roll quartet. They've become infamous in their hometown of Toronto for their insanely high-energy, take-no-prisoners live performances.
The Anti-Queens released their second LP, DISENCHANTED, in May 2024 – produced by Dave ‘Brownsound’ Baksh and Steve Rizun. The band has previously self-released two stellar EPs (Grow Up/Stay Young and Start Running) and their killer full-length debut on Stomp Records in the fall of 2019.

CLASS careens from sounding like the BOYS to the sneering power pop of WHITE HEAT. The wizardry of songcrafting is something to behold, with layers of harmonies propelling ordinary melodies into the orbit of a higher plane. CLASS doesn’t sound that much like the EXPLODING HEARTS, but they draw from the same wellspring of influences...striking gold where others have come up empty-handed.

In Spanish, the band’s name LENGUAS LARGAS refers to a busybody whose slander is typically untrue. For those not in the know, Lenguas Largas are a badass, genre-crossing amalgamation delivered with a punk rock sneer.
Absorbing the mélange of sound that overlaps two worlds — norteño, punk, psychedelic, indie, rock en Español, ranchera, soul and R&B — Lenguas Largas’ music uniquely reflects cross-cultural life in the Borderlands. at the end, TOTAL FUN!!
