Dogma-eschewing yet restlessly romantic, THE HOMESICK are chiefs of their own musical mushroom kingdom. For over a decade, the Dokkum-based trio have never been afraid of reinvention From the baroque post-punk experiments of lauded Sub Pop released LP ‘The Big Exercise', to the guitar-abandoning Animal Collective-flexes of their 2023’s self-titled release, the band have established themselves as a curiously formidable force within The Netherlands’ rich alternative-rock landscape.
Charging the retrofuturist technological mania of Yellow Magic Orchestra with the band’s distinctive new-wave/art-rock wonkiness, raging synth-lines and aberrant guitar licks abound, teasing yet another era in the group’s singularly curious and expansive career-to date. A more muscular, pulse-driven kind of alien club music, ‘Esperanto’ corrals their wide span of influence into something moreish, highly inventive and ceaselessly fun.

Post-punk/no wave oddity GEO (KJ Braams (bass) Jorne Visser (vocals/guitar), Gijs Deddens (drums) and Ype Zijlstra (keys, electronics) are like a sentient slot machine: whatever seems happenstance is actually by design, and the more mismatched the moving parts appear, the more their music starts to make sense. Since the Groningen quartet’s inception in 2019, they have built a framework of skeletal agit-funk, cartoonish chromatics and neoteric art punk vignettes – sketching negative spaces where chaos and cacophony can sound perplexingly catchy. After releasing their esteemed EP in 2021, the band has entered its next creative chapter.
Out of Body – Geo’s long-awaited debut album – is an oblong snow globe utopia where dancing with two left feet is an actual custom. Out on Erste Theke Tontraeger on April 26, 2024 – this collection of songs constitutes material Geo have been writing and performing when they first entered the circuit. These jitterbug, birdbrained post-punk spiels are in the spirit of gung-ho deconstructionists like The Contortionists, The Fall and Gang of Four. On Out of Body the band play emotions out against each other like some kind of absurdist Punch and Judy show.

Paula & Karol 4-Ever. Offenbar war das ernst gemeint.

Grito Exclamac!ón is a movement born from the search for self and a counterculture that responds to the social problems they experience daily by creating resonant expressions in music. From Mexico City, they always seek an intimate, cathartic, and chaotic interaction that envelops you in a theatrical narrative, describing their reality through aggressive verses, angular guitars, eclectic rhythms, melodic basses, and sporadic trumpets, creating a raw, direct, and carefree aesthetic.
J Mahon is the musical project of Berlin-based Australian expat Jarrod Michael Mahon. After years of self-released home recordings, he debuted with Everything Has a Life in 2023, produced with Syd Kemp (Thurston Moore, Ulrika Spacek, Spiritualized). In 2025, Mahon signed to Unique Records and reunited with Kemp for his second album, the chamber-pop Begin Again, Again, released June 27. Influenced by Sparklehorse, Spiritualized and Daniel Johnston, Mahon's songs combine intimate pop, chamber strings and guitar feedback. Live, he moves between haunting solo sets and a powerful seven-piece band, having performed at SXSW, The Great Escape and toured with artists including King Krule, Speedy Ortiz and Ariel Pink.
"30th Anniversary Concert "MacArthur Lane" Album
30 years after its release, the band is performing the entire album together with special guest ANNA SUHR. In 1991, mastermind Olaf Schumacher—until then the singer and songwriter for the Most Wanted Men—formed THE GROOVY CELLAR. Named after a Neo Sixties club in London in the early '80s, the name more than hints at the band's musical direction. In 1996, the band's debut album *MacArthur Lane* was released on the Hamburg-based label Marsh-Marigold. It featured top-notch twee pop anthems such as "The Silly Season" and "The Summer of Falling Stars".
Since then, the band has released a number of singles and EPs, as well as additional albums on Twang! and Firestation Records.
In concert, THE GROOVY CELLAR has shared the stage with such diverse artists as Television Personalities, Liga der Gewöhnlichen Gentlemen, Fehlfarben, Cleaners From Venus, Ian Brown (Stone Roses), The Movement, and Stone Foundation."

JEFF CLARKE / is a seeker. From the rough and ready ministrations of his hellraising, garage-rocking days in Demon's Claws and The Black Lips, to the wounded world-weariness that still cracks through the polish of his lusher latest solo effort "Miracle after Miracle after ...", the idiosyncratic gospel he preaches is always shot through with a hard-won resilience, an uncanny naïveté, a persistent sense of curiosity.
The album is, in contrast to his previous solo work “Locust” (recorded in a single session in a forest), more beautifully embellished, but never overloaded—there is plenty of room for the strangely melancholic voice and songwriting, which is finely woven but occasionally also sharply edged.
At its heart, this is folk music, and such traditionally excellent songwriting makes comparisons both easy to make and inherently reductive. Clarke is drawing from the same well as countless other psychic diarist. He could be mentioned in the same breath as Connie Converse, Daniel Johnston and Atlas Sound, for example. But Clarke so successfully locates himself within this tradition of artists as to make references redundant, if not breaking the mold, then stretching it into a shape all his own.

DANE JOE / Solo project of Adi (Jukebox Baby Records). Noise rock/western ambient inspired by spooky films, lullabies, and washing machines. In her current performance, Dane Joe uses tapes, a slidy guitar and loops.

Initially the brainchild of former Plebeian Grandstand’s bassist Olivier L., MOURIR is the full-band follow-up to his one-man project Vermine. Bolstered by the addition of members from BRUIT ≤, Toucan & Drawers, the Toulouse-based quatuor quickly evolved in France’s most well kept extreme metal monstrosity, one eviscerating studio effort after another. Equally influenced by early norwegian forefathers as well as the dissonant approach of their fellow countrymen, MOURIR’s take on black metal is a non-stop barrage of majestic guitar leads, pounding sludge grooves, and bone-chilling ghoulish howls to new states of sonic anguish. Their new album “Nous, Le Venin” will be out on July 10th 2026 on Pelagic Records with scheduled appearances at Soulcrusher, Hellfest, Resurrection Fest, Rock In Bourlon.

Bonusfeierei 2: the return of mOck.
Drumherum Geburtstag, Friends, Liebste, Dosenmusik deluxe. Kommt, wie seit 15 Jahren, alle!
Be well, friends!

*Dear M:Soundtrack Family please join us for the festival of friends ..
Formidable quartet The Blood Arm have reunited to digitally release their 2004 debut album Bomb Romantics, available again for the first time in over twenty years on 17th July 2026. To celebrate the release, they are performing live together for the first time in 10 years at Berlin's legendary Schokoladen.
Founded in Los Angeles, 2002. Nathaniel met guitarist Zebastian Carlisle at a karaoke bar, and the two recruited Nathaniel's UCLA classmate Dyan Valdés, a classically-trained pianist, on keys. Drummer Zachary Amos, who was studying microbiology at UCLA, was the last to join. The band developed a strong reputation for their enthusiastic and immersive live performances and were named the 'Best Live Act' at the SXSW Music Conference by Entertainment Weekly in 2005. They were also christened Franz Ferdinand's "favourite band" after playing an after show for them in 2004, the same year they nominated for the LA Weekly Music Award for 'Best New Artist'. The band members all currently reside in Berlin where they continue to make music in various projects.
Bomb Romantics was a self-funded collection of lo-fi songs recorded in a garage studio over one weekend, which then sold out and generated the buzz that got them noticed abroad. The album received critical acclaim from the likes of NME and DIY, as well as BBC Radio's Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq. Whilst not a traditional concept album with a single continuous narrative, Bomb Romantics captures the raw energy and early ethos of The Blood Arm, making it an extremely significant release for the band.
Since the release of their debut album, they have regularly received support from the likes of The Guardian, Loud & Quiet, Uncut and Clash Magazine to name a few. The Blood Arm's biggest appearances and live achievements are rooted in their reputation as an explosive live band, which led to high-profile support slots and festival recognition, including the likes of Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds.
"A Reunion, A Resurrection, and the Return of Indie's Lost Holy Grail" - Asbo Magazine
"Two decades on, this isn't just a reissue. It's a long-overdue reunion with a record that captured lightning in a garage and refused to fade quietly. Plug in, turn it up, and welcome 'Bomb Romantics' back into the world." - Culture Addicts
please louise is the solo project of Irish songwriter Louise Macnamara, previously one half of the twin-sister duo Heathers. Inspired by artists like Big Thief, Snail Mail, Lucy Dacus, and Sufjan Stevens, the project blends indie folk-pop with introspective lyrics and guitar-driven arrangements.
Their debut EP, 'Bury My Head' is due for release in November 2026, with the first single of the same name out September 9th.

Twenty-Four Eyes
Channelling relentless industrial rhythms and glitchy textures, Twenty-Four Eyes draws on post-punk and alternative music. They explore the chaotic sounds and anxious sentiments of late-stage capitalism.
The Berlin four-piece released a collection of songs from a live session and are already working on new material.
Whirlpool brings together musicians from Ireland's east coast and Belgium. They recently emerged from the forgotten cellars of a Berlin brewery through a conveniently placed hole in the fabric of spacetime. Starting off from simple beginnings, their songs build into sonic vortices that pull the audience into an immersive whirlpool of sound. Expect dizzying soundscapes and ethereal melodies anchored to a foundation of a gritty rock pulse. Swirling waves of sound crested by melodic vocals and guitar lines. Their music draws influence from psych rock touchstones like Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tame Impala, and Slowdive adding a dash of post punk.
