The People’s Pleasure Ground is like a vision upon endless beaches with deep blue waves rolling upon a lost paradise. Such a place where the wine flows freely and the sun is always blazing. With Jimmy de Kok functioning as the captain, this band will be able to turn venues and meadows into magical Californian scenes. During live-shows De Kok is accompanied by Malenzie Mac-Donald Jr., Gijs van der Heijden and Eno Aronds. Together they will daze the listener with a strong dose of reverb-loaded guitars and dreamy lyrics inspired by bands such as Allah-Las and Babe Rainbow. With their recently released EP and a number of well-received live-shows, the band’s future looks promising. The People’s Pleasure Ground is the absolute must-see for everyone embracing the sixties surfscene.

MENK (Berlin)

Menk is a psych band based in Berlin. 

Originally formed in 2017 in Saint Petersburg, Menk solidified its current form as a duo, with Jura Titov and Anton Viktorov creating a unique sound that blends elements of neo-psychedelia, noise rock, and experimental soundscapes.

With atmospheric guitars, reverb, delay effects, deep basslines, and dynamic rhythms, Menk crafts music that invites listeners into a vivid world of textures and emotions.

Inspired by classic acts like Pink Floyd and The Velvet Underground, as well as modern bands such as Dead Meadow and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Menk’s sound captures the essence of both timeless psychedelia and contemporary innovation. Die Band "UGLY HURONS" wurde 1987 in Hermsdorf gegründet. Die Band bestand ursprünglich aus Tom und Mike, die zusammen mit Basti und Hans die Ugly Hurons gründeten. Peter, der später die HC-Band Ulrike am Nagel gründete, war ebenfalls beteiligt.

Die Ugly Hurons spielten zunächst vor allem auf Partys und in Proberäumen, vor allem bei befreundeten Bands in der Umgebung. Ihr erstes offizielles Konzert gaben sie am 25. September 1989 als Vorband von Kaltfront in Hermsdorf. Nach der Wende wurde es etwas ruhiger um die Band, aber es gab immer wieder Reunion-Konzerte, und seit 2010 sind die Ugly Hurons wieder dauerhaft aktiv.

Die Band hat mehrere Alben veröffentlicht, darunter "Fluxkompensiert" (2012), "Pils Pub In" (2016), "Fresst Petersilie…" (2020) und "Proud To Be Ugly" (2023).

Zusätzlich zu ihrer Musik sind die Ugly Hurons auch für ihre Live-Auftritte bekannt, die oft von einer Mischung aus Punkrock, Ska und Bläsern begleitet werden laut eigener Aussage.

LES CALCATOGGIOS
Auf Korsika im Örtchen „Calcatoggio“ lernten sich 1998 fünf junge Berliner*innen kennen. Eine Band war schnell gegründet. Zwischen Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Valencia, Dessau und Veilsdorf mischen Les Calcatoggios seitdem in der Ska-Szene mit. Immer tanzbar, gern mal rockig, mit eingängigen Melodien und Offbeats gewürzt und mit satten Bläsersätzen garniert.

Die norwegische Rockband LÜT meldet sich zurück - lauter, mutiger und lebendiger als je zuvor. Nach ihrem gefeierten zweiten Album Mersmak und ein paar turbulenten, durch Wandel geprägten Jahren, präsentiert die Band ein brandneues Album und eine anstehende Tour, die ihr nächstes Kapitel in Clubs, Festivals und Herzen in ganz Europa zu Gehör bringen wird.
Nachdem sie im Sommer 2022 dreimal als Support für DIE ÄRZTE unterwegs waren, hat die neu entstandene Freundschaft mit Bela B zu einer Zusammenarbeit in Form des Songs „Glücksschmied“ geführt. Es ist ein erster Vorgeschmack auf etwas Neues und Grosses. Das Quartett bietet aggressiven und feinsten Stadion-Punk-Rock. Das Hauptziel des Albums war es, Musik zu machen, die sich anfühlt wie ein lang ersehntes neues Gericht auf der

Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2014 haben sich LÜT bei Rock-, Pop- und Punk-Fans einen Namen gemacht. Eine inspirierende, berauschende Reise an der Grenze des Machbaren, zwischen Breakbeat, Techno, Punk und Ambient.
Seit mehr als 30 Jahren betreten Rizio und Scheng bewusst die Shadowlands neben unseren Erwartungen. Sie brechen aus bestehenden musikalischen Normen aus und kreieren etwas völlig Neues, Eigenes. Zitate aus dem Punk und Hardcore werden genauso authentisch umgesetzt wie Drum and Bass, Breakbeat, Techno oder Klassikeinflüsse.

Ursprünglich aus der Punkszene stammend wurden GUTS PIE EARSHOT in den 90er Jahren - damals mit fünf Mitgliedern - als Avantgarde-Legende des undogmatischen Hardcore auf unzähligen Festivals und Konzerten gefeiert.
Seit 2004 treten Jean Jacobi, Schlagzeug und Patrick Reerink, E-Cello als Duo auf.
Seitdem spielten die beiden Musiker neben unzähligen Konzerten im deutschsprachigen Raum jährliche Tourneen in Osteuropa und wurden 2005 und 2011 zu Kulturaustauschen nach Klaipeda, Litauen und Murmansk, Russland eingeladen. 2006 spielten sie auf dem Sziget-Festival und seit 1999 sind sie regelmässiger Gast auf dem Fusion-Festival.

garage/eggpunk band HYPERDOG coming back to Berlin!

here a review to their latest recording from MRR: »Debut full-length from HYPERDOG of Linz, Austria. The opener, “Enter The Mountain,” starts with the original Playstation boot-up sound (can’t forget that noise), followed by a sort of lovely, moody synth track, completely disorienting you from the garage-y, distorted-vocal hardcore that follows. Looking at the psychedelic album art, I thought I was going to get some southern US doomer band, but obviously looks deceive. Is that a theme here? The eleven tracks within are fast, short, and tight. Some songs yell at you, like “Cop,” while others have a playfulness, like “House on the Hill,” featuring carefree, shimmery guitars. This is the US release, with the same release available on vinyl from Swish Swash Records in Europe (slightly different album art, same vibe). Fun debut that keeps you guessing!«

WILSON A.

What started out as a bunch of separate poems in a shared Google Drive folder, evolved into Wilson A: a Haarlem-based Indie collective that balances between DIY-indie, garage rock and post-punk. Wilson A. makes sharp, ironic anthems about mobile phone addictions, marathon runners and hopeless parties you should have probably already left two hours ago.

With an infectious combination of danceable grooves, unpolished guitars and oldschool synthesizers, Wilson A. creates a live show that is simultaneously quirky and compelling. At its core, their music is convincing, honest and fun. Moving away from the typically darker themes in post-punk, Wilson chooses to approach current day problems from a cheerful and absurdist perspective.

GEGENPHASE

After being part in Easy Listening- and Elektropunk-Setups in Frankfurt and Berlin singer Wolfgang Renner meets Gregor Blanz and Reinhard Koch again - some old acquaintances from their rural origin in Bavaria. They had been hanging out in the Hamburg 60s Garage Scene.

Together they start “Gegenphase”, combining the best of both worlds and celebrating a mixture of Garage Punk and “Neue Deutsche Welle” sound: The German lyrics on topics like “Haus, Glas, Klingel, Tür, Gefahr“ being a key element to this.

Soon gigs in the Berlin underground clubs are performed and the first EP “The Melody Central Tapes” is being recorded. There is a positive Echo in local booking, online blogs and streaming services (e.g.: detector.fm – band of the month).

• Hard to resume soon 40 arghtivism years : Nine studio albums, two re∼recorded & re∼arranged studio recordings, three live albums { last & new one starring Randy of The Residents }, two DVDs, one lyrical book, one pop∼up book & around 3000 shows around the earth… The band’s approach to arrangements & style is unique in the world of «rock». They bring instruments & vocals in different directions within the same scales and keys to create a dense melodic atmosphere. In addition, their rhythms often accent off∼beats and half∼beats, throwing the listener into unexpected directions. The music seems to be an exhausting juxtaposition between beauty and ugliness, as songs will frequently shift between modes to create tumultuous, powerful hooks. The combo is also fond of shifts between time signatures and the insertion of extra beats in the shaping of the mood of the song…

F.P.B. { short for Fourth Price Band } was one of the most influencial precursor band, from czech «punk» movement, formed in 1980 at Teplice —town bordering germany— by bassist, singer and poet Miroslav Wanek & his friend Petr Růžička, who improvised sort of «manager». These two amigos  were soon joined by drummer Milan Nový and, later, by guitarist Romek Hanzlík. This line∼up scoured nearly 40 concerts { including a unique & epic date at the polish Jarocin festival } until 1985, when Mirek & Romek joined and truly launched the stammering collective Už Jsme Doma…
In 1986, the «manager» tried to reboot (under the same name) with a new members around the original drummer, who broke up in 1987…
